Which is, unfortunately for my mysterious girl image, exactly what I’m doing. 😌
I’m Helina, your Internet Diary Girl. A millennial woman living in Finnish Lapland, still emotionally attached to the TV shows, songs, and fictional bedrooms of her teenage years.
And I would really like some girls to talk to.
Girls who understand that rewatching a comfort show is a perfectly respectable evening plan. Who might have thoughts about Rory Gilmore’s decisions. Who hear a song from 2004 and suddenly need to explain an entire era of their lives.

Do you miss having someone to tell the little things to?
Sometimes I want to tell someone about a book I’m reading, something ridiculous I remembered, or a tiny thing that made my day better.
Nothing urgent. Nothing that requires advice. Just: look at this. What do you think? Please tell me you remember this too.
I have a family I love, and I still want female friendship. Someone to be silly with. Someone whose ordinary little updates I get to care about, too.
Maybe you’ve moved, become a mother, changed relationships, or simply realised that you don’t see your friends as often as you used to. Maybe you’ve always found it easier to be yourself online.
I love the idea that we could find each other from completely different corners of the world, all because we happen to like the same oddly specific things.
A tiny return to the old internet
I miss that feeling of stumbling across someone’s personal blog and becoming invested in her life.
Her room. Her favourite things. Her unnecessarily detailed account of a completely ordinary Tuesday.
You’d come back to see what she was up to. Somewhere along the way, she started to feel familiar.
That’s the feeling I want for this little diary.
I make webcam diary videos on YouTube, where we can hang out over cozy girl talk, easy baking, nostalgic favourites, and whatever plot twist my life is currently serving. Writing letters here feels like another lovely way to keep in touch.
Preferably while wearing something comfortable and eating something good.
Things we’ll probably talk about
♡ Comfort shows and 2000s girl culture. Gilmore Girls, The O.C., Gossip Girl, H2O, rom-coms, and the fictional women who may have influenced our personalities a little too much.
♡ Making ordinary days sweeter. Girly nights in, seasonal treats, little rituals, and giving ourselves something to look forward to.
♡ Books, memories, and sentimental nonsense. Old diaries, memory boxes, songs that take us somewhere, and objects we cannot possibly throw away because they have lore.
♡ Our actual lives. Relationships, motherhood, fresh starts, big dreams, and the slightly embarrassing experience of trying something you really care about.
Occasionally there may be an oracle card. Occasionally there may be questionable dating advice discussed over cake. We contain multitudes. 🎀
